Today we continue building your Russian vocabulary and will learn some useful phrases that will help you to express your confidence in some matter. Every phrase comes with one or more examples.

уве́рен(а), (что)сonfident (that) / sure (that)

Уве́рена, мы спра́вимся с зада́чей.
I’m confident/sure we will be able to handle the task.

oпределенно… – definitely

Соверше́нно определённо могу́ сказа́ть, что суще́ственных измене́ний при́нятой ра́нее страте́гии разви́тия не плани́руется.
I can definitely say that significant changes in the previously adopted development strategy are not planned.

нет никаки́х сомне́ний – there is no doubt

У нас нет никаки́х сомне́ний в пра́вильности вы́бранного ку́рса.
We have no doubts of the correctness of the chosen course.

без сомне́ний – without any doubts / undoubtably

Сва́дьба, без сомне́ния, одно́ из са́мых ва́жных и па́мятных собы́тий в жи́зни челове́ка.
The marriage is undoubtedly one of the most significant and memorable events in a person’s life.

мо́жно с уве́ренностью сказа́ть – it is safe to say

Ка́ждый ра́но и́ли по́здно испы́тывает чу́вство ле́ни, и мо́жно с уве́ренностью сказа́ть, что на све́те нет челове́ка, хоть раз не испыта́вшего лень.

Everyone sooner or later experiences a sense of laziness, and it is safe to say, that there is not a single person in the world who has not felt lazy at least once.

то́чно / абсолю́тно то́чно / соверше́нно то́чно – exactly / absolutely right / quite right

Мы то́чно не успе́ем на по́езд.
We’ll surely miss the train.

на все сто (проце́нтов) – one hundred (percent)

В то́чности предоста́вленных да́нных мо́жно быть уве́ренным на все сто.
You can be a hundred percent sure in the accuracy of the data provided.

очеви́дно – obvious

Очеви́дно, заня́тия йо́гой пошли́ тебе́ на по́льзу.
It is obvious that the yoga lessons have benefitted you.

достове́рно – for certain, for sure

Достове́рно изве́стно, что мно́гие ви́русные инфе́кции, протека́ющие во вре́мя бере́менности, мо́гут привести́ к внутриутро́бному пораже́нию плода́ и разви́тию разли́чных поро́ков разви́тия у ребёнка.
It is known for a fact, that many viral infections that occur during pregnancy may cause intrauterine fetal lesions and development of various malformations in a child.

несомне́нно – undoubtedly

Бы́страя ско́рость рабо́ты програ́ммы, несомне́нно, ска́зывается на удо́бстве рабо́ты для по́льзователя.
Fast speed of the program undoubtedly affects the usability for the user.

бесспо́рно – indisputably, undoubtedly, certainly

Рефо́рма бесспо́рно нужна́. Но она́ тре́бует огро́мных фина́нсовых вложе́ний, поэ́тому и прохо́дит поэта́пно.
Reform is certainly needed. But it demands huge investments, hence it progresses in stages.

есте́ственно – naturally

Есте́ственно, разу́мнее выбира́ть себе́ обя́занности в соотве́тствии со свои́ми си́льными сторона́ми. Пусть ка́ждый де́лает то, что ему́ ле́гче и прия́тнее.
Naturally, it is wiser to choose one’s duties according to one’s strengths. Let everyone do that which is easy for him and more enjoyable.

безусло́вно – undoubtedly, absolutely, certainly

Безусло́вно, борьба́ с корру́пцией – э́то актуа́льный вопро́с для всей страны́.
It is beyond doubts that the fight against corruption is a pressing problem for the whole country.

коне́чно – of course

Коне́чно, мы ожида́ли бо́льшего, но всё-таки э́то не по́вод опуска́ть ру́ки, посыпа́ть го́лову пе́плом и бесконе́чно, до изнеможе́ния бить себя́.
Of course, we expected more, but still that is no reason to give up, repent and forever beat oneself to exhaustion.

само́ собо́й разуме́ется – it goes without saying

И само́ собо́й разуме́ется, что ка́ждая трениро́вка должна́ включа́ть не́сколько упражне́ний на растя́жку.
It goes without saying that every workout should include some stretching exercises.

однозна́чно – definitely, unambiguously

“Э́то однозна́чно был поджо́г,” – заяви́ли сотру́дники мили́ции корреспонде́нтам СМИ.
“It was definitely an arson”, – the police announced to the media.

двух мне́ний быть не мо́жет – no two ways about it

Двух мне́ний быть не мо́жет: удаля́ть зу́бы не лю́бит никто́, в том числе́ данти́сты.
There’s no two ways about it: no one likes to have one’s tooth extracted, including dentists.

гото́в(а) поспо́рить – I’m ready to argue

Я гото́ва поспо́рить, что созда́тели програ́ммы не ожида́ли вдруг свали́вшейся на них популя́рности.
I am ready to argue that programmers did not expect their sudden popularity.
