You can ask for a discount if you’re in a marketplace (in Russia it’s the most common place for negotiating a discount).

Dialogue 1:
– 2 кило́ я́блок пожа́луйста.
– Коне́чно же! Вот, возьми́те.
– Ско́лько с меня́?
– 300 рубле́й.
– Мо́жет усту́пите? Я в магази́не деше́вле найду́.
– Хорошо́, дава́йте ски́ну 30 рубле́й.
– Бо́льше 200 не дам! И́ли пойду́ к друго́му продавцу́!
– Вы меня́ гра́бите! Ну хотя́ бы 250?
– 230, тогроваться бо́льше не бу́ду!
– По рука́м. Но се́рдца у вас нет!
– 2 kilos of apples please.
– Sure! Here you are.
– How much will it be?
– 300 rubles.
– Could you knock off a bit? I could find cheaper apples in a shop.
– Okay, I’ll make a 30 ruble discount.
– I won’t give you more than 200! Or I’ll go to another seller!
– It’s a robbery! At least 250!
– 230, and I won’t bargain anymore!
– Deal! But you have no heart!
If you’re in a shop, you can ask for a discount if there’s some defect in the product (of course you will get a discount anyway if it’s happy hours or a sale).
Dialogue 2
– Я бы хоте́ла купи́ть э́ту кни́гу.
– Она́ сто́ит 650 рубле́й, но так как у нас сего́дня распродажа, вы полу́чите ски́дку в 10%.
– Прекра́сно! Но я заме́тила, что у неё помя́тый корешо́к. За э́то не полага́ется дополни́тельная ски́дка?
– Е́сли вы не о́чень торо́питесь, я уточню́ у ме́неджера.

– Да, мы мо́жем сде́лать вам дополни́тельную ски́дку. Итого́ с вас 552 рубля́ 50 копе́ек.
– Спаси́бо большо́е!
– I would love to buy this book please.
– It costs 650 rubles, but as we have a sale today, you’ll get a 10% discount.
– Excellent! But I noticed that it has a crumpled cover. Could I expect additional discount for that?
– If you’re not in a hurry, I’ll ask the manager.

– Yes, we can make extra discount. The total sum will be 552 rubles 50 kopecks.
– Thanks a lot!

– Здра́вствуйте. Рестора́н “Друзья́”. Чем я могу́ вам помо́чь?
– Здра́вствуйте. Могу́ я отпра́здновать день рожде́ния в ва́шем рестора́не?
– Да, коне́чно! Когда́ и́менно вы плани́руете торжество́? И ско́лько бу́дет госте́й?
– Я бы хоте́ла заброни́ровать сто́лик на восьмеры́х на 7 ве́чера в сле́дующую пя́тницу.
– Прекра́сный вы́бор! Мы мо́жем предоста́вить вам ски́дку 3% за коли́чество госте́й и 5% в честь дня рожде́ния.
– Здо́рово! А каки́е ещё мо́гут быть ски́дки?
– Е́сли у вас есть на́ша дисконткая ка́рта, и́ли е́сли су́мма счёта бу́дет бо́лее 10 ты́сяч рубле́й, разме́р ски́дки мо́жет соста́вить 15%.

– Hello. It’s “Friends” restaurant. How can I help you?
– Hello, can I celebrate my birthday in your restaurant?
– Of course! When exactly will the celebration take place? And how many guests will be there?
– I would like to book a table for 8 for next Friday at 7 p.m.
– Excellent choice! We can make you a 3% discount for the amount of guests and 5% for your birthday.
– Wonderful! Is it possible to get other discounts?
– If you have our discount card or if the total sum exceeds 10 thousand rubles, we can make a 15% discount.
